IS IT LEGAL TO BUY CDS AND DOWNLOADS FROM MASTERMIX?
Mastermix is a DJ Only subscription service licensed by Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) and MCPS. To subscribe to this service you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions which clearly state you must be a professional working DJ please make sure you fulfil this criteria before completing your subscription.
All CDs, USBs and downloads from Mastermix are 100% legal and fully licensed by the copyright holders. You must ensure you are covered by the correct performance licences to copy, move or play the content.
I’VE BOUGHT A MIXED ALBUM AS A DOWNLOAD, HOW WILL THIS BE DELIVERED TO ME?
Your album will be delivered to you as one audio track per mix. If you are downloading a Grandmaster the whole product will be delivered as one mix, if you are downloading an Issue or any other product with multiple mixes, you will download one file per mix.
WHAT DO I NEED IN ORDER TO DOWNLOAD DIGITAL FILES FROM MASTERMIX?
Our download service requires a PC or Mac with a modern web browser, older browsers are not supported. A broadband internet connection is strongly recommended to allow you to download your music as quickly as possible.
WHAT CAN I DO WITH MY PURCHASED MUSIC?
Downloaded tracks can be played through your PC/Laptop, transferred to a compatible portable MP3 player or burnt to CD and CDs can be ripped to a computer (as long as you own a Pro Dub licence). Once you have downloaded music or bought a CD from us, it is yours to keep; however, as all music available at Mastermix is copyrighted, it is prohibited to distribute, sell or share it with others.
THE SONG I WANT IS PART OF AN ALBUM… WHY CAN’T I PURCHASE IT SEPARATELY?
Tracks are not available for individual purchase. Additionally, certain record companies have asked us to ensure their content is not sold separately.
HOW DO I DOWNLOAD MY TRACKS FROM MASTERMIX?
After confirming and paying for your order, go to My Account by clicking the icon in the top left corner of the website, and click Downloads where you’ll find your most recent purchase. Alternatively, you can click the link to download directly from your purchase confirmation email.
In the Downloads section of your account, the download count will indicate how many times you have downloaded the album. You can filter your purchased albums using the search box at the top of the Downloads area.
You can also download an album that you have previously purchased directly from the product page of the website – the option to ‘buy’ will have changed to ‘download’.
CAN I DOWNLOAD DIRECT TO A MOBILE DEVICE?
Mastermix delivers digital files as a zip file, and an iPod, iPad and many other mobile devices can’t open zip files. We recommend that you download to your main computer then sync the audio files to your device.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I DOWNLOAD MY ITEMS?
The download links do not expire in your account once you have purchased an album and you can download multiple times. However, you should ensure your digital downloads are protected by a backup solution for the reasons stated below.
MY FILES ARE NO LONGER IN THE MY DOWNLOADS SECTION!
Occasionally we may need to withdraw items from download for legal or other reasons. Please ensure you download and back up your purchases and do not rely on your Mastermix account as a back up for your purchases.
WHAT FILE TYPE AND QUALITY ARE MASTERMIX DOWNLOADS?
Mastermix supplies digital audio in MP3 and WAV file format. We obtain all our audio files from trusted sources and strive to ensure every file is of the highest quality available.
Some older music productions, particularly ones created before the advent of digital production techniques, will never have existed as WAV files and as such, may not show as a ‘true WAV’ when analysed.
In addition to this, some producers will deliberately strive for an ‘edgier’ production sound when mastering, which some software may highlight as not meeting a lossless standard.
In the Mastermix studios, we regularly use analysis software to check the quality of our sourced audio files. We acknowledge that these results are not always 100% reliable and are there as a guide only. As such, they need to be interpreted accordingly. Our producers rely heavily on listening to what a track sounds like rather than trusting the reported results of 3rd party software and strive to bring you only the best quality available.
We don’t charge a premium price for the WAV format.
Please note, the preview files on this website are played at a reduced quality to the purchased files.
WILL I RECEIVE ALBUM ART WITH MY ALBUM DOWNLOAD?
Yes, a front and back cover image is included with your download where available.

CAN I USE PAYPAL?
At this current time we don’t have the PayPal facility on the website.
WHY CAN’T I SEE THE WAV VERSION OF THE TRACK I’D LIKE TO PURCHASE?
All the Mastermix back catalogue is WAV format, however with current music, sometimes the WAV of a particular song hasn’t been made available to us, therefore we can only supply it to you as an MP3.
WHY CAN’T I SELECT THE CD VERSION OF AN ALBUM I’D LIKE TO PURCHASE?
Mastermix music is exclusively available as digital downloads in MP3 and WAV format. Individual albums are no longer available to purchase in CD format. The Mastermix Issue and Pro Disc is still available to existing subscribers in CD format, but you can no longer set up a new subscription for the CD version of any Mastermix album.
CAN I BUY MASTERMIX MUSIC ON A USB?
Occasionally we will release an exclusive USB featuring a particular collection of music, either from the Mastermix back catalogue or a curated collection in a specific music genre. These collections are limited editions and don’t remain on the website for very long.
If you would like to purchase a specific collection of Mastermix music on a USB, we can create a bespoke order for you. Minimum spend is £100, please email support@mastermixdj.com to discuss your requirements.
